The reality of sin is hard for many to handle. People inside and outside the church often minimize sin through the mindset of “I am only human. I am supposed to sin.” Eric challenges this thought. In the Christian’s case, is sin a foregone conclusion? Can we excuse our sin so easily? What does God expect of us regarding His commandments and our sin? For Mother’s Day, Eric tackles an issue near and dear to a mother’s heart–the happiness of her children. Many Christians believe “God is more interested in our obedience than our happiness.” To deconstruct this myth and see what Scripture actually says, he looks at several related questions. Are happiness and joy different emotions? Where does the Bible root our joy? Are joy and obedience actually opposing qualities?
